The mission of the CAD Lab is to provide specialized software and services not already available through the Information Technology/ Engineering Computer Services organization. A variety of advanced computational tools are installed on the Lab’s computers such as ANSYS (multi-purpose finite element analysis), the Pro/Engineer Suite (computer-aided design and modeling), FLUENT (fluid mechanics) and others. The presence of these software tools gives AME students access to state-of-the-art computational capabilities for use in classroom projects, in student design projects, and on research projects. |
