I would like to welcome you to the Web site for the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. As one of the academic units within the College of Engineering, AME offers programs designed to provide a strong background for a wide variety of careers.

The disciplines of aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering are very broad but generally emphasize an appropriate mix of theory and applications of solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermal sciences, controls, design and analysis of advanced systems and devices. The focus areas of the School are: Multimedia Instruction Technology, Materials/Design/Manufacturing, Intelligent Systems/Robotics, Bioengineering, and Energy Systems/Propulsion.

Graduates at all degree levels (B.S., M.S., Ph.D.) have traditionally entered into automobile industries, aerospace industries, energy industries, transportation, product manufacturing industries, government laboratories and agencies dealing with these problems, and a variety of academic positions.
