The ASCE University of Oklahoma student chapter has created a concrete canoe for the National Concrete Canoe Competition every year for a number of years. The process of designing, building, documenting, presenting and racing the canoe is an excellent preparation for the real-world design-build process that students will face in practice. 2008

April 2008: Congratulations to the OU Concrete Canoe team for successfully defending the Mid-Continent regional conference championships at the University of Arkansas. They now advance to nationals in Montreal in mid-June. The team won with a total team effort, as they garnered points in all parts of the competition.
