Design Engineer

Location: Oklahoma City
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

1. Product Design
2. Evaluation of Product Deficiencies
3. Product Repair Procedures

Duties:

1. Perform structural calculations required for the design of precast/prestressed products and systems.
2. Provide assistance to the drafting department as required to aid in the production of erection and shop drawings.
3. Verify that the information conveyed on erection and shop drawings is in accordance with the design.
4. Sign seal the drawings and calculations as required by project specifications.
5. Evaluate deficiencies in products and advise production on the their acceptability.
6. Generate repair procedures for products.
7. Perform or assume responsibility for other tasks as directed by the Engineering Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering.
2. Professional Engineer – would consider EIT with a few years experience.
3. Three years experience as a Precast/Prestressed Design Engineer

Minimum Skills

1. Proficient in AutoCad
2. Proficient in structural design software
3. Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Description: KCI has immediate openings for an entry level to four year Engineer-In-Training (EIT) wanting to specialize in transportation planning and design.  The successful candidates will be part of a design team that is engineering a variety of transportation projects including advanced planning and schematic design, as well as preparing plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).  Responsibilities to include design production of transportation projects in accordance with good engineering practice; calculating quantity estimates, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-section development, drainage design, working with digital terrain models, and designing traffic control plans; coordinating and scheduling work to meet project goals on time and budget; coordinate with engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet project objectives.  May occasionally supervise and schedule work of other team members.
