ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FELLOWS


  • Spend 10 hours/week in the school classrooms
    (Undergraduates 7.5 hours in the classroom)
  • Fall - 2 weeks observing in each classroom
    Spring – work with team developing authentic activities
  • Authentic Teaching course – Fall term
  • Authentic Teaching Seminar – Spring Term
  • Assist in designing, creating, and implementing authentic learning activities
  • Assist with technology incorporation and implementation

FELLOWS DO

  • Support, respect, cooperate, and rely on each other
  • Communicate within their team by sharing and exchanging information
  • Work closely with their partner teacher and encourage the teachers active involvement
  • Keep appointments at scheduled work times
  • Show respect for other Fellows and their partner teachers
  • Work to relate to other teams within their school and within the project
  • Discuss concerns/problems/issues at the earliest possible time to avoid misunderstandings and hard feelings

FELLOWS DON'T

  • Do personal work (on their laptops, internet or otherwise) at ATA school sites during class time
  • Serve as substitutes in the classrooms
  • Serve as graders
  • Work alone on projects – these are all team projects which include at least 2 Fellows and 1 teacher
  • Skip their own college classes to do ATA work
