DLC Tutors & Mission of the DLC Tutoring Program

Deans Leadership Council – Tutors

DLC - Tutoring Mission

The Dean’s Leadership Council (DLC) – Division of Tutoring will establish connections with students in an academic setting leading to a strong sense of achievement within the College of Engineering through student-to-student interaction.

This academic learning community composed of willing tutors and engaged students will be a part of the larger DLC Board and will continue to strive towards the shared goals in service, dedication, respect, and honesty toward others, to engineering as a profession, to the College of Engineering, and the University of Oklahoma.

Dear OU Engineering students, Liz Cook, Director of Diversity & MEP

The DLC Tutoring efforts support all students enrolled in the College of Engineering who seek help with coursework, a complicated mathematics equation, or by providing a review of information prior to a quiz or an exam.  All the students who work in the DLC Tutoring program have been hired and trained as tutors. They are excellent engineering students and are here to help you engineer your success in the classroom!

Our tutoring hours are from 3 PM – 9PM, Mondays – Thursdays and 1 PM – 5PM on Sundays in the Engineering Library (2nd Floor of Felgar Hall) and we also offer specific study sessions for the Calculus series, Chemistry and Physics upon request.  There is no tutoring available on Friday or Saturday.  Tutoring is FREE to all engineering students.  Please be sure to sign in upon arrival so that we can help track your progress and our tutor’s time in helping you succeed!

If for some reason, you are unable to meet with a tutor during the times listed, please submit a “Help Me” Tutoring Request form and we will match you up with a tutor in your subject area for additional independent tutoring.  All independent tutoring must be approved by the Director, Liz Cook at Elizabeth.cook@ou.edu.  If you need tutoring for a course that is not listed, please email the director; you never know who we have on file to help!

The 2008-2009 school year has started off with a bang and we plan to have at least 23 tutors who have been hired to work for the College of Engineering.  Each of these students has attached their schedule and information so that you can get to know each of them and figure out what works best for your own personal study needs and coursework.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help!

Sincerely,

Liz Cook, Director of Diversity & MEP
